Zak Knight: Because you’re a Knight. Wrestling’s in your blood.
Raya Knight: That’s not good. That makes it sound like hepatitis.
Zak Knight: Yeah, it is. We’re riddled with wrestling.
Fighting with My Family is a heartwarming, British comedy based on the incredible true story of WWE Superstar Paige(TM). Born into a tight-knit wrestling family in Norwich, Paige and her brother Zak are ecstatic when they get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try out for WWE and meet their hero Dwayne `The Rock` Johnson. But when only Paige earns a spot in the competitive training program, she must leave her family and face this new, cut-throat world alone. Paige’s journey pushes her to dig deep, fight for her family, and ultimately prove to the world that what makes her different is the very thing that can make her a star.
A stirring, funny and authentic underdog story, Fighting with My Family brings together the unique talents of producer/actor Dwayne Johnson and director/writer/producer Stephen Merchant, who celebrate a young woman’s talent, drive and tenacity as she defies the odds to climb to the top of her profession. Interweaving a true-life drama with comedy and heart, the filmmakers explore the triumph of an indefatigable spirit who finds unlimited joy in what she does.
“For a film that spends so much time with its thighs around other people’s throats, it has a surprisingly delicate touch.” – Robbie Collin, The Telegraph
“Both an offbeat comedy and classically rousing underdog tale, this indie film’s heart somehow exceeds the size of Dwayne Johnson’s bulging biceps.” – Mara Reinstein, Us Weekly

“A window. I love a window. The whole of life already framed.”
Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke excel in this beautiful true-romance centred around Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis.
In 1930’s rural Nova Scotia. Maud Dowley (Sally Hawkins), who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, smokes heavily to deal with the pain. Because of her unusual gait from the arthritis, she is often mistaken as a stupid, incapable woman. That view is held by her surviving family, her brother Charlie and her Aunt Ida with whom she lives. After an action by Charlie, Maud decides to seek some independence and is the only applicant for a posted job as housekeeper for brusque Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke), a poor fish seller. Despite not wanting to hire a cripple, Maud negotiates to get the job for room and board. Their relationship is troubled to say the least but Maud is determined. To keep herself happy, Maud begins to paint and the film charts her rise to fame.
“This is a remarkably assured movie, through and through. Walsh and cinematographer Guy Godfree have taken care to make every individual shot a thing of beauty.” – Glenn Kenny, rogerebert.com
“Maud’s life was constricted, but her gaze was expansive. And so is her movie.” – Bob Mondello, NPR
“Maudie is an inspiring, heart-warming true-story film that most audiences will find hard to resist.” – Cate Marquis, We Are Movie Geeks

To give them hope she must tell their story.
A special screening to tie-in with the inaugral 2020 Manx Scrabble Championship!! An elegant British comedy-drama starring Bill Nighy as Alan, a retired, Scrabble-obssessed, Merseyside tailor – as well as bringing dry wit and emotional warmth to his character, Nighy also nails an engaging and consistent voice. Decades ago, Alan’s eldest son stormed off over a game of Scrabble and since then Alan, a formidable and quietly intelligent man, has steadily retreated into his habits and eccentricities to shield himself from the cares of the world. Alan has been obsessively searching for him ever since, leaving his relationship with his youngest son strained.
“This film is a distinct, articulate pleasure.” – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Shoplifters, winner of the 2018 Cannes Palme d’Or, is a must-see film by Japanese master filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda. Kore-eda is well known for his mastery of telling unique, heartbreaking stories that examine the subject of the family and the complex ways that they can be reconstructed. Shoplifters is an enchanting and devasting masterpiece, blurring the divide between the unforgivable and understandable.
Osamu (Lily Franky), Nobuyo (Sakura Ando), Aki (Mayu Matsuoka), and Shota (Jyo Kairi) all live under the roof of grandma Hatsue (Kirin Kiki), living off her pension and the menial labor jobs Osamu and Nobuyo hold down. To make ends meet, the family shoplifts nearly all of their food, with young Shota and patriarch Osamu bringing home most of the ill-begotten bacon. One night they spot a young girl (Miyu Sasaki), alone outside. It’s not the first time they’ve seen her there and she shows clear signs of abuse. Fearing for her safety in the cold, they take her home with them and informally adopt her.
So begins a year in the life of a highly dysfunctional family living on the poverty line in Tokyo. As Kore-eda delicately lulls the viewer with each scene he leaves subtle and disquieting clues about each character’s past, revealing to us that nothing about this unconventional family is as it seems.
“Every scene adds another onion-skinlike layer, adding density and mass so slowly that you hardly notice the emotional weight of it all until it is suddenly overwhelming.” – Emily Yoshida, Vulture
“The spirits of the old masters pervade this disquieting but deeply moving drama. But Kore-eda stands alone as the chronicler of family life in a country facing an identity crisis.” – David Parkinson, Empire

A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, ‘Hotel Mumbai’ vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel in the heart of Mumbai, India. Members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, intent on massacre, storm the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in a series of coordinated attacks throughout the city. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel) who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests when the attacks break out.
Superbly directed and edited and painstakingly researched, this is a shockingly realistic depiction of true-life events that does not spare on savagery. It paralyzes the viewer with genuine terror as extremists slowly and quietly invade the premises, hunting down everyone, making anyone a target. Unsparing in its depiction of violence and carnage, the movie meets an even greater challenge showing the myriad of ways people from all classes and cultures united and found the courage and strength to survive.
“It is a chilling, blood-splattered real-life horror show revisited. But it never jumps the gun and stays firmly focused on the human facet of the drama” – Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV
“‘Hotel Mumbai’ Is a Gripping, Deeply Humane Depiction of Real-Life Terrorism” – Rex Reed, The Observer
“No amount of words that can convey the sense of the film, because it is such a gut-punch of emotion… Just go see Hotel Mumbai — you won’t regret it.” – Andy Howell, Film Threat
“Anthony Maras’ Hotel Mumbai is a jolting cinematic experience that succeeds in transporting you to Mumbai’s worst encounter with brutality.” – Mark Kermode, The Guardian

Nominated for the 2020 BAFTA Best Documentary, cinematic space event film 50 years in the making. Featuring never-before-seen large-format footage. An astounding and beautiful documentary about one of humanity’s greatest accomplishments, the iconic mission to the moon. The events span from the eleventh hour preparations for the launch to shortly after the safe touchdown of the capsule with its three astronauts back on Earth. The mission is historic as the first time humans had stepped on the surface of the Earth’s moon. Sit back and marvel!!
“★★★★★ An exceptional, vibrant restoration of never-before-seen footage results in one of the most astounding films about space ever made” – Adrian Horton, The Guardian
“This film is like a historical archive crossed with an IMAX simulator, making viewers feel like they’re part of the team that put the first man on the moon.” – Tara McNamara, Common Sense Media
“Apollo 11 isn’t a film about the facts and stats of the mission to reach the moon. Instead, it’s about how it feels to be in space and on the ground as history is made. Stunning, stirring stuff.” – Ian Freer, Empire
“Apollo 11 isn’t like other documentaries about the first moon mission. In fact it isn’t like most other movies, period. It’s magnificent and unique, an adrenaline shot of wonder and skill.” – Matt Seotz, Rogerebert.com
