Simon & Garfunkel: Through The Years – Performed by Bookends @ Centenary Centre
Oct 14 @ 8:00 pm – 10:15 pm

Simon & Garfunkel: Through the Years is the most authentic sounding concert to the unforgettable music of Simon & Garfunkel. Made up of Dan Haynes & Pete Richards, Bookends have toured the globe extensively with their concerts being described as ‘simply breathtaking’.

“One of the greatest tribute shows anywhere in the world”

Stuart Cameron, BBC and ITV Broadcaster

Performing the songs in a truly captivating way, against a backdrop of iconic imagery, their delicate recreation of the unmistakable sound of the American folk-rock duo is something of a masterpiece. Bookends have been performing their unique, world-class concert to audiences in some of the finest theatres and concert halls across the UK, Europe and the United States.

“A masterpiece”

BBC Radio

Here many of the hits such as The Sound of Silence, Mrs Robinson, The Boxer and Bookends’ own beautiful rendition of the unforgettable Bridge Over Troubled Water. This is without doubt the closest thing to Simon & Garfunkel touring the world today.

Harry Manx @ Centenary Centre
Nov 4 @ 8:00 pm – 10:15 pm

The legendary Harry Manx makes a welcome return to Peel for the last in the series of events booked by our dear friend Jonathan “Jonno” Gollow, before his very sudden and sad passing earlier this year.

Harry Manx is a Canadian musician who blends blues, folk music, and Hindustani classical music. He describes his music as being a “blend Indian folk melodies with slide guitar blues, add a sprinkle of gospel and some compelling grooves and you’ll get Manx’s unique “mysticssippi” flavour.”

This one is for you Jonno.

Tickets are available now for this show online, or at our usual outlets.

In the 1940s, Prince Khama of Botswana shocked the world when he married a London typist. It was love at first sight, they were soulmates, yet their proposed marriage was challenged not only by their families but by the British and South African governments as well.

The South Africa government had recently introduced the policy of apartheid and found the notion of a biracial couple ruling a neighboring country intolerable. South Africa threatened the British: either thwart the couple or be denied access to South African uranium and gold and face the risk of South Africa invading Botswana.
